Antigone Now

Evelyn's role in bringing this character to life and helping to communicate the story of Ismene and Antigone was crucial. Evelyn started by revisiting Sophocles' Antigone play. Peralta compared and contrasted the Chorus roles in Sophocles' Antigone, introducing a piece of the original Chorus to Melissa Cooper's Chorus. She went on to construct a detailed character development that guided her onstage acting. She also merged elements of all of the extra chorus members' characters into her own, allowing her to show multiple chorus roles during the play and assist bounce energy from one chorus member to the next.
