The Revolutionists
Evelyn had the opportunity to work once again with director Lisa Cotie in BTWHSPVA production,The Revolutionists. The production was also performed at Booker T first ever, in person, UIL competition. Some of Evelyn's responsibility included; quick changes, traveling with over 20 costume pieces for competition, wig changes, and assisting the designers. For the UIL competition, Evelyn's responsibility increased since she had to opportunity to also work as running crew. For reference, UIL is a Texas competition where rules are extremely precise. Some rules include, a strict 7 minute set up, 40 min run including blackouts, and 7 minute strike. To add on, there was a full alternate cast that Evelyn had to assure their costumes were always on standby incase of an incident. This production has helped Evelyn grow in her collaborative, organization, quick change, and production skills. She enjoyed every part of the production and is thankful for everyone involved in it.
In action
Below Evelyn is preparing the cast by helping them into costumes. Designer, Emily Post, had a precise design that Evelyn guaranteed was followed. She is helping actor Maya Reddy, Marie Antoinette, into a variety of pannier, skirts, corset, and a wide variety of jewelry pieces. To follow, she is helping actor Sylvie Jenkins into a bum roll, skirts, corset and jewelry. Backstage, Evelyn would be directing actress Grace Luxon, Charlotte Corday, and Maya Reddy quick changes.
