New Oppression
One of Evelyn and her co-designers' main goals was to demonstrate the beauty of color and race. Peralta and the designers knew how important it was to enhance the beauty of different skin tones, thus they chose colors that would assist them reach that aim. They also utilized dark bottoms and lighter tops to illustrate the oppression process, illustrating how dark it all started and how slowly light began to ascend from the gloom.

Peralta and her co-designers intended to create revolutionary modern clothing inspired by Black artists and culture, such as Hip-Hop, Black Panther Movement, and street wear, for this outfit. Her and her design team used numerous layers to include various fashion and street wear components into this costume, starting with a turtleneck, progressing to an open button down and a leather jacket with chains and various street wear accessories such as bandanas and glasses.
